Twins begin successful crab delivery company after job loss during pandemic
Crab is something that many people eat and sometimes it is hard to find in the pandemic.
Twin sisters in Maryland began a first-of-its-kind business in their area- crab delivery service.
The twins, Rae and La Middleton, were let go from their job in March of 2020. Since that day, they put determination into the next 6-months to bring their business to fruition.
Both sisters have culinary degrees and after they craved crabs one night, they brainstormed a way to make it easier to obtain.
They opened R and L Crab Company, which is owned and operated solely by the two of them. They cook and deliver every order themselves. The food is cooked-to-order and they do not reheat food.
Right now they are using various restaurants to cook the crabs. This is called a “ghost kitchen", until they are able to afford their own.
They are now writing a book to help other launch a business in the midst of unknown circumstances.
