Forced birth control in China to suppress Uighers population
Some populations are encouraged in China, like the country's Han majority. Others, however, are not.
The Chinese government is taking very harsh measures to slash birth rates among Uighurs and other minorities in the country. This is part of a sweeping campaign to curb its Muslim population. The minority population is discouraged even as China encourages some of the country’s Han majority to have more children.
Many women have spoken about this draconian measure of forced birth control in the past, yet the practice is more widespread and systematic than what was known. This information is according to an Associated Press Investigation. The investigation is based on interviews, statistics, family members, and former detention camp instructors. Experts are calling this a segway into what is believed to be “demographic genocide”.
