Chris Rock asks “Was that Will Smith?” after Dave Chappelle attacked on stage during Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival
Comedian Dave Chappelle was jumped on stage Tuesday night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles during the first Netflix live comedy festival. The altercation happened towards the end of the sixth night of the 11-day Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival. This event runs until May 8 and features more than 130 performers at various venues within Los Angeles.
Chappelle, 48, and an unknown individual appeared to fight on stage during the Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival.The individual escaped behind the stage screen where security guards surrounded the individual at the back of the stage and tackled them.
Chappelle appears to have ran up on the fight, saying the individual was "stomped." He repeatedly asked security to get the individual off the stage. When the individual security finallyfully caught the individual, Chappelle joked to the audience that the individual was "a trans man."
Chappelle haa been criticized un the past for his comments about the LGBTQ community. Last year there was a controversy against his hour-long Netflix special "The Closer", in which he said that "gender is a fact".
