Music Video:"Camelot”
We all have that idyllic thought of the perfect romance. Everything that could make your heart soar, could be true, if only your imagination was reality.
Sy Smith takes you to a place where dreams transcend into the idyllic feeling of love. Love that is so unreal but feels so true. All of this is represented in her song “Camelot”, a single off of her recently released album Sometimes A Rose Will Grow In Concrete.
The video was shot on the beautiful landscape of East Africa. Sy mixes the genres soul, funk, and jazz together in a unique blend that expresses not only the love for Tanzania but also the beauty of romance itself. Her unqiue blend of music genres like a gourmet meal created by an illustrious chef, is what makes her the “Queen of Underground Soul”.
Sy wrote and produced “Camelot” and the video was shot using an iPhone 10 mobile device under the direction of Shawn Carter Peterson. They traveled over several places in East Africa to show the beautiful landscape. Some of the places that they stopped in were the Serengeti and Tarangire National Park. The video for “Camelot” can be found broadcasting on BET Soul and Music Choice. You can so watch it above.
You can find the “Queen of Underground Soul” touring as a featured artist with Grammy-Award Winning Trumpeter, Chris Botti. She also appeared on Chris Botti's Grammy-Nominated DVD, “Live in Boston” and PBS Special “Great Performances”. To find out where she will be next, visit her official website at www.sysmith.com.
