Man kills GA woman at workplace and then turns gun on himself
Nothing is more shocking than finding out your child has been shot by her boyfriend, whom you didn't even suspect of violence. The mother of a woman who was fatally shot at her place of work as the boyfriend then shot himself expressed her heartbreak online — and urged others to be pay more attention to domestic violence.
"This was so unexpected for our family," wrote Alyson-Renee Johnson, the mother of the murdered 27-year-old Leilani Billingsley. She posted this on a GoFundMe page for her daughter. "I'm asking all if that you or your daughter is in a bad situation please help them."
On Monday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that at about 11 a.m. Paul Sullivan, 38, assaulted Billingsley, the mother of a 6-year-old girl, before he killed her and then himself, Cobb police said. The police said that the incident took place at the Riverside EpiCenter, in the rear parking lot. The two were found dead from gunshot wounds. Billingsley's mother told the paper she never thought Sullivan would hurt her daughter. On her GoFundMe page she also writes, "I feel like I failed my baby," she wrote. "She was my best friend, my rock. She taught me what being a mother was all about."
