Former NBA Player, Delonte West, lands job at Rehab Center that helped get him back on his feet
Delonte West, former NBA Player, is the perfect example of a comeback. If validation of going through trials and bouncing back is needed, just look at where he is now.
Pictures and videos surfaced the internet in 2020, along with previous years, of the 37-year-old living on the streets appearing to be in a horrible condition.
NBA Owner, Mark Cuban tracked West down in Dallas during September 2020, according to a news report by TMZ. From there Mark and his recently connected mom convinced West that rehabilitation was the key to recovery.
Recovery moved swiftly according to reports from the Rebound Therapy Center in Florida. A news report by Shams Charania in The Athletic states that West is surrounded by the Rebound family and continues to maintain contact with Cuban and his mom. West is now an employee of the Rebound Center and a testimony for others who are in the situation he was in.
This is a joyus occassion, as many in the NBA Community have worked to push West back on his feet. Some include Doc Rivers and Jameer Nelson. Now West, has a strong support system and hopes of continuous progress are pushed his way.
He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008. West discussed it publicly while still in the league.
Way to go, West! Keep it up!
